Compression
fittings for mounting thermocouples are available in brass or
stainless steel types.
Brass fittings may be used when the corrosion resistance
and high temperature resistance of stainless steel are not
required. It can be applied at any point along the sheath and
connot be moved after it is tightened the first time.
The stainless steel fittings are available with either
stainless steel ferrules or teflon ferrules. The teflon units
may be readjusted along the sheath as often as is required.
