Century Series Features

  • Field-configurable thermocouple type, alarms,°C/°F
  • Heat/cool action
  • Numerous control outputs
  • Loop Break and Heater Break Alarm
  • Standard PID autotuning

The Century Series are high performance controllers designed for maximum control performance at the most reasonable cost.  Available in five DIN sizes, these instruments are recognized for their solid reliability and ease-of-use. With simplified menus and prompts and easy key operations to change set points, even unskilled workers can operate these units.

The Century Series features dual displays showing both the set point and the process value (orange/green LEDs). An advanced PV-Derivative PID algorithm has been developed for optimum process control. PID values can be easily obtained by autotuning the instrument at a touch of a button or they can manually be entered through easy, touch key operation. These instruments are used extensively for plastics, packaging, thermal and semiconductor applications.

Heat/Cool PID Action
The use of Heat/Cool PID action with dead-band function achieves energy savings in applications where process-generated heat exists such as extruders. It can also be used with an overlap function to provide stabilized temperature for a controlled object with a large time constant (not available on the REX-C100).
Economical, easy-to-use and designed to handle the rigors of industrial applications, the Century Series is the logical choice for both OEM and end users alike.

If you have older, larger style instruments to replace, we also have adapter plates available for any of our Century Series instruments. Also, if dust or chemicals, etc., are a problem, we have clear acrylic snap-on front covers.

Inputs
The Century Series will accept 12 different field-configurable thermocouple-type inputs...K, J, N, E, T, R, S, B, PLII, W5Re/W26Re, U and L. RTD inputs are also accepted (.00385 or .00392 Alpha). Also available is DC milliamp or voltage inputs with fixed settings of 0~100%.

Outputs
The Century Series has numerous control outputs: relay, voltage pulse, 4~20mA and triac trigger.

Alarms
A maximum of two alarms are available on the Century Series. These alarms can be programmed to be Temperature (Process, Deviation or Band Alarms), Loop Break Alarm or Heater Break Alarm.

Heater Break Alarm (HBA)
HBA detects failures in the heater output and monitors the load via an external current transformer. The current transformer sends an alert signal when the load current falls below a threshold value set by the operator.

Loop Break Alarm (LBA)
The LBA monitors and protects an entire temperature control system. It can detect heater breaks, thermocouple or RTD failure, short circuits or the failure of operating devices such as mechanical relays, mercury relays and SSRs.
